Snowmobile & Cross Country Ski Trails
Michigan has over 100 trail systems and more than two thousand kilometers of groomed trails, most of them concentrated on the Upper Peninsula and the northern half of the Lower Peninsula.
Start out at the trail head in downtown Mackinaw City and head southwest to ride or ski the Moose Jaw Trails. Go east to the Black Mountain Trails. The trailhead offers parking for vehicles and trailers, a loading/unloading area and lockable snowmobile parking.
Just west of Mackinaw City, you can ski the 10 km of groomed double-track trails in the nearby Wilderness State Park. Wilderness State Park juts into Lake Michigan with more than 30 miles of coast and is one of the most remote areas of the Lower Peninsula.
